Board of Directors

William Judy, BS Mechanical Engineering
President
I studied at the University of New Hampshire, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Business Administration. Starting in corporate Technical Sales, I found myself drawn to smaller companies where I could make a meaningful impact. I structured two residential development companies before partnering in two mortgage banks. Most recently, I’ve worked in Management Consulting, helping small businesses thrive by teaching and implementing new strategies. Now, I’m putting my small business experience to work managing finances for Alpine Square. As a person with Asperger’s Syndrome myself, I’m excited to help people with disabilities attain financial and healthcare benefits to support a fulfilling life for themselves with the help of Access Plus.

After earning my Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York’s Empire State College, I worked in various grassroots, community-based, and faith-based nonprofit programming before launching my own nonprofit. Through ongoing local publicity, community-organizing, and foundation support, I raised around $100k in annual revenue for several years to fund charitable service for low-income, inner-city people.
After getting burnt-out from hands-on humanitarian work, I earned my law degree — Juris Doctor — from the Mississippi College School of Law. While an honor student who was published in prestigious law journals, a severe psychiatric disability incapacitated me so that I never worked in the legal profession after my graduation in 2014.
I am currently an SSI disability recipient who is working through the State of North Carolina’s paid internship program for people with severe disabilities. What a culture shock it has been to graduate law school only to attend day programs, as well as partial and full psychiatric hospitalization programs, instead of working at law firms. I bring to Access Plus legal knowledge, nonprofit startup experience, as well as a passion for providing quality and dignified programming to people living with disabilities.
